Perranuthnoe Village Amenities

With its secluded, safe, sandy beach and the unspoilt beauty of the rugged Cornish coast, Perranuthnoe is an idyllic, picturesque village with a range of amenities to suit.

The Beach

The beach is clean and the water quality is good. It is safe for swimming although there are no lifeguards. When the conditions are right it is popular with surfers and a great beach for beginners. Access is via a ramp or some steep steps.

Dogs are not allowed on the beach from the 1st May to 30th September between the hours of 8am and 7pm. Be a responsible dog owner and pick up after your dog or the 24 hour ban may be reinforced. Most owners do, it is a small minority that do not.

The launching of personal watercraft is forbidden at all times.

Parking

Just back from the beach there is a car park. Charges apply in season but out of season parking is free.

The car park also houses the public toilets which are open all year.

Dogs in hot cars - Advice

If you need to report a dog left unattended and distressed in a car during hot weather ring the RSPCA on 0870 55 55 999.

• Never leave your dog unattended in a car, even for a short while when it's warm or hot outside.
• Leaving windows down or providing bowls of water will not stop heat stroke from happening.
• Even if you park your car in the shade, the position of the sun will change.
• If you do see a dog left in a car on a warm day and it appears to be distressed, call the RSPCA or the Police. They will take the appropriate action, if necessary breaking into the car to release the dog.
• Try and find the owner.

Remember: Anyone found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal under the new Animal Welfare Act 2006 faces up to a £20,000 fine and/or six months in prison. Owners can also be banned from keeping animals, possibly for life.

Telephone

There is a telephone box opposite the Victoria Inn. Mobiles do not get a very good signal in Perranuthnoe!

Post

The post box is next to the telephone and collection is once a day at 9am. There are no longer any collections on Sundays or Bank Holidays.

Mobile Library

The mobile library visits the village fortnightly on Fridays at 1.15pm.
It waits by the telephone box.

Recycling

Rosudgeon recycling site
There is now a recycling site adjacent to the road opposite the Falmouth Packet next to the sports field.

The site has separate containers to accept mixed paper (card, cardboard, coloured paper), newspaper & mags (which also includes junk mail and white phone directories), cans, plastic bottles, textiles and glass.

As with the other recycling sites, this site is not able to accept any waste/rubbish.
